Besides the Civil War history, the scenery afforded by the High Bridge Trail is spectacular. There is a bike rental place in downtown Farmville where you can get a cruiser for 2 hours for $15. The trail is flat and even, and wide enough for foot, bike, and horse traffic. Be prepared for wildlife, of course. You might encounter a few green snakes, spider webs, and gnats.
Great spot to go biking. You can ride in all the way from Farmville. Perfect for kids. Beautiful views of central Virginia.

The main trail is very nice and flat with amazing views on the high bridge. Make sure you bring water with you as there is none available on the trail.
